Prior to works commencing it is necessary to obtain both a Planning Approval and a Building Permit from your local shire. The Carport Co is experienced in this area and will do this on your behalf should you wish us to do so. That way you can sit back, relax and allow us to do the nitty gritty work for you.

3-4 months is the legislative time period in which councils have to work on your applications. We suggest adding in a couple extra weeks for drafting and engineering to take place.
Councils usually take up to 60 days to process a development application where no consultation is required, and 90 days if any consultation is necessary. These timeframes may be extended where agreement from the applicant has been obtained as no application is like another.
There are two types of building permits, one is certified prior to submission and takes just 10 days once submitted to council, and the other is uncertified (the cheaper option) and takes up to 28 days once submitted. The Carport Co predominantly uses the certified option simply because it's faster.
Once we have the necessary approvals in place we will start construction as soon as possible, you will be notified by us with the start date and estimated construction period. We are happy to work with you should you have a preferred time, just let us know.
